Async Persistence Implementation

SaveBotStateAsync() Workflow

Purpose: Save bot state without blocking game thread

Workflow:

PersistenceResult BotStatePersistence::SaveBotStateAsync(
    Player const* player,
    std::function<void(PersistenceResult)> callback)
{
    // Step 1: Validate player
    if (!player)
        return PersistenceResult::PLAYER_INVALID;

    // Step 2: Capture snapshot (fast, <0.1ms)
    BotStateSnapshot snapshot;
    if (!CaptureStateSnapshot(player, snapshot))
        return PersistenceResult::PLAYER_INVALID;

    // Step 3: Queue async database operation
    CharacterDatabasePreparedStatement* stmt =
        CharacterDatabase.GetPreparedStatement(PBDB_UPD_BOT_FULL_STATE);

    stmt->SetData(0, snapshot.position.GetPositionX());
    stmt->SetData(1, snapshot.position.GetPositionY());
    stmt->SetData(2, snapshot.position.GetPositionZ());
    stmt->SetData(3, snapshot.mapId);
    stmt->SetData(4, snapshot.zoneId);
    stmt->SetData(5, snapshot.orientation);
    stmt->SetData(6, snapshot.goldCopper);
    stmt->SetData(7, snapshot.health);
    stmt->SetData(8, snapshot.mana);
    stmt->SetData(9, snapshot.botGuid.GetCounter());

    // Step 4: Execute async with callback
    CharacterDatabase.AsyncQuery(stmt, [callback](QueryResult result) {
        if (callback)
            callback(result ? PersistenceResult::SUCCESS : PersistenceResult::DATABASE_ERROR);
    });

    return PersistenceResult::ASYNC_PENDING;
}

Performance: <1ms (non-blocking)

LoadBotState() Workflow

PersistenceResult BotStatePersistence::LoadBotState(
    ObjectGuid botGuid,
    BotStateSnapshot& snapshot)
{
    // Step 1: Validate GUID
    if (!botGuid.IsPlayer())
        return PersistenceResult::PLAYER_INVALID;

    // Step 2: Execute synchronous query
    CharacterDatabasePreparedStatement* stmt =
        CharacterDatabase.GetPreparedStatement(PBDB_SEL_BOT_STATE);
    stmt->SetData(0, botGuid.GetCounter());

    QueryResult result = CharacterDatabase.Query(stmt);
    if (!result)
        return PersistenceResult::STATE_NOT_FOUND;

    // Step 3: Parse result
    Field* fields = result->Fetch();
    snapshot.botGuid = botGuid;
    snapshot.position.Relocate(
        fields[1].GetFloat(),  // position_x
        fields[2].GetFloat(),  // position_y
        fields[3].GetFloat()   // position_z
    );
    snapshot.mapId = fields[4].GetUInt32();
    snapshot.zoneId = fields[5].GetUInt32();
    snapshot.orientation = fields[6].GetFloat();
    snapshot.goldCopper = fields[7].GetUInt64();
    snapshot.health = fields[8].GetUInt32();

    for (uint8 bag = INVENTORY_SLOT_BAG_START; bag < INVENTORY_SLOT_BAG_END; ++bag)
    {
        Bag* pBag = player->GetBagByPos(bag);
        if (!pBag)
            continue;

        // Iterate all slots in bag
        for (uint32 slot = 0; slot < pBag->GetBagSize(); ++slot)
        {
            Item* item = player->GetItemByPos(bag, slot);
            if (!item)
                continue;

            // Capture item snapshot
            InventoryItemSnapshot snapshot;
            snapshot.botGuid = player->GetGUID();
            snapshot.bag = bag;
            snapshot.slot = static_cast<uint8>(slot);
            snapshot.itemId = item->GetEntry();
            snapshot.itemGuid = item->GetGUID();
            snapshot.stackCount = item->GetCount();
            snapshot.enchantments = SerializeEnchantments(item);
            snapshot.durability = item->GetUInt32Value(ITEM_FIELD_DURABILITY);

            items.push_back(snapshot);

            bot->GetName(),
            snapshot.position.GetPositionX(),
            snapshot.position.GetPositionY(),
            snapshot.position.GetPositionZ(),
