Death Knight AI - Combat Behavior Integration Complete

Summary

Successfully integrated CombatBehaviorIntegration into DeathKnightAI following the WarriorAI reference pattern with full Death Knight-specific mechanics for all three specializations (Blood, Frost, Unholy).

Implementation Details

Files Modified

  1. DeathKnightAI.h - Added new method declarations and tracking fields
  2. DeathKnightAI.cpp - Complete integration with all 7 priorities

Key Features Implemented

Priority System (7 Levels)

  1. Interrupts - Mind Freeze (melee) and Strangulate (ranged)
  2. Defensives - Spec-specific defensive cooldowns
  3. Target Switching - Death Grip and Dark Command integration
  4. AoE Decisions - Death and Decay, Blood Boil, Epidemic, Howling Blast
  5. Offensive Cooldowns - Spec-specific burst abilities
  6. Resource Management - Rune and Runic Power optimization
  7. Normal Rotation - Delegate to specialization

Death Knight Specific Features

Blood (Tank) Features

  • Defensives: Vampiric Blood, Rune Tap
  • Cooldowns: Dancing Rune Weapon
  • Taunt: Dark Command for threat management
  • Resource: Rune Strike for runic power dump

Frost (DPS) Features

  • Defensives: Unbreakable Armor
  • Cooldowns: Pillar of Frost, Empower Rune Weapon
  • AoE: Howling Blast
  • Resource: Frost Strike for runic power dump

Unholy (DPS) Features

  • Defensives: Bone Shield maintenance
  • Cooldowns: Summon Gargoyle, Unholy Frenzy
  • AoE: Epidemic for disease spread
  • Resource: Death Coil for runic power dump

Universal Death Knight Abilities

  • Anti-Magic Shell: Protection against casters
  • Icebound Fortitude: Emergency defensive
  • Death Strike: Self-healing when low health
  • Death Grip: Pull ranged targets
  • Army of the Dead: Major boss encounters

Integration Pattern

The implementation follows the established pattern from WarriorAI:

  1. Null-safe checks on CombatBehaviors pointer
  2. Early returns when actions are taken
  3. Comprehensive logging for debugging
  4. Performance metrics tracking
  5. Resource management integrated with RuneManager
  6. Disease tracking via DiseaseManager

Quality Assurance

  • ✅ Full implementation, no shortcuts
  • ✅ All three specializations supported
  • ✅ Comprehensive error handling
  • ✅ Death Knight-specific mechanics preserved
  • ✅ Rune and Runic Power systems integrated
  • ✅ Disease management maintained
  • ✅ Performance tracking included

Testing Recommendations

Unit Testing

  1. Test interrupt priority with casting targets
  2. Verify defensive activation at health thresholds
  3. Confirm target switching with Death Grip
  4. Validate AoE ability usage with multiple enemies
  5. Check cooldown usage timing
  6. Test resource management thresholds

Integration Testing

  1. Verify interaction with CombatBehaviorIntegration API
  2. Test specialization-specific rotations
  3. Confirm RuneManager integration
  4. Validate DiseaseManager updates
  5. Test combat metrics recording

Performance Testing

  1. Monitor CPU usage during combat
  2. Check memory allocation patterns
  3. Verify update frequency optimization
  4. Test with multiple Death Knight bots

Next Steps

  1. Test the integration thoroughly in game
  2. Fine-tune ability priorities based on combat logs
  3. Optimize resource thresholds for each spec
  4. Add PvP-specific behavior adjustments
  5. Implement advanced positioning strategies

Notes

  • The implementation maintains backward compatibility with existing DeathKnight specialization classes
  • All Death Knight unique mechanics (runes, diseases, runic power) are preserved
  • The integration is modular and can be easily extended or modified
  • Performance considerations are built into every decision point
